Conceptual Modeling
Hybrid v1.2.0
Proposed development of a small boutique hotel along the eastern coast of the Indian Ocean. Given the region’s hot and humid coastal climate, the design focused on achieving high levels of thermal performance while targeting net-zero carbon emissions. To meet the required thermal efficiency, the project explored the use of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs), particularly dual-insulation NUDURA ICF systems. Beyond the architectural proposals, the model was developed to support preliminary cost estimation and Bills of Quantities (BOQs). This required acquiring, adapting, and modifying 3D models of NUDURA ICF components and accurately applying them to the building floor plans. The resulting model allowed the quantity of ICF blocks required for the proposed structures to be calculated, providing a basis for material estimates, preliminary costing, and construction planning.
